Pharmacist - PRN

Duties Performed:

  • Maintains all aspects of Tandem Health, pharmacy program in strict accordance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Maintain adequate pharmaceutical inventory.
  • Monitors stock for out-dated drugs and disposes often in strict accordance with established guidelines. Instructs designated personnel at each site to properly dispose of out-dated drugs.
  • Fills compounds and dispenses medications as prescribed by physicians and midlevel.
  • Performs medication consultation with each patient at the point of dispensation; informs the patient of the appropriate manner in which the medication is to be taken/ used; conducts patient education pursuant to OBRA regulations.
  • Provides pharmaceutical consultation to the medical staff.
  • Maintain all required pharmaceutical files and records.
  • Maintain pharmaceutical information, i.e.: current listing of new market and drugs and drugs interaction.
  • Assists in the preparation of the pharmacy for inspection by funding agency, Department of Health and Environmental Control Board of Pharmacy and assists in the maintenance of an orderly pharmacy department.
  • Maintain a system of accountability for controlled drugs/substances, syringes, and other pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Maintains current and accurate patient drug files
  • Ensures that funds and supplies are utilized efficiently and effectively.
  • Observes schedule for work, lunch and breaks.
  • Supervises Pharmacy technicians and clerical personnel
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Pharmacy software and hardware
  • Completes training requirements to stay up-to-date on policies and procedures for the 340B drug program, as well as any drug assistance programs in which the pharmacy participates.
  • Follows all policies and procedures related to the 340B drug program, as well as any drug assistance programs in which the pharmacy participates.
  • Participates in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities of the organization.
  • Performs other related duties which may be assigned by the Director of Pharmacy Services, Medical Director and /or Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirement: Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and posses current licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of South Carolina

Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience as a pharmacist.
  • Must have thorough knowledge and ability to utilize a computerized pharmacy system.
